I hate Rush, and I agree with Hulka. Doesn't matter what kind of dick Rush may or may not be, the laws are supposed to apply equally, period. This is yet another example of where they aren't, only instead of it being a rich person getting off, it's a rich person being made an example of vindictively, just because someone can. Did he put himself in this position? Yes. Should he be prosecuted? Yes. Do I think he is an ass who profited on shame and arrogant grandstanding? Yes. None of which means the laws shouldn't be followed. I believe I can fly......urk.

Rush being a dickhead doesn't mean its right for him to be treated differently than a non-dickhead by the law. I don't like the guy, but bad karma shouldn't be a part of following the law. |

Doesn't matter what kind of dick Rush may or may not be, the laws are supposed to apply equally, period. Most assuredly, and that is why Rush's medical records will be subject to investigation and he will be subject to prison time if convicted, just like millions of lower class minorities in the state of Florida. The charges against Rush are quite serious and his medical records are undoubtedly a material component of a felony investigation. Rush is being treated like any Joe Schmoe would be. |

Can you give me examples of each of these allegations? Al Franken wrote an entire book devoted to this subject. Put Rush's name into the search engine at Spinsanity.com and you'll pull up a zillion examples of all those things. Really, one doesn't have to look very hard on the internet to find documentation of Rush's bullshit. |

This is the same state where the Florida Supreme Court decided to change election law in the middle of the process, in order to keep counting counties that had been counted over and over again in an effort to make the numbers push Algore into a win. That is an extremely questionable characterization of the events the 2000 Florida election, but I doubt anything I say could dissuade you from this view. It's awfully hard for a court to change the election law when it is the job of the court to interpret the law, one could say that they "are the law", given due process and all which is exactly what happened. |

Hulka: Rush isn't some guy applying for a job who had his potential employer sniffing through his medical records; nor is he being tried for a crime in which his medical records are not relevant to the case at hand. So fuck 'em. Considering there is ample probable cause that he was doctor shopping (note the 2,000+ pills he was prescribed over 6 months), I don't see the problem with prosecutors getting access to his medical records. I normally don't like the idea of the police randomly pulling people over and searching their cars, but I do support it if there is real probable cause to believe the person is in the process of kidnapping a kid. 2,000 pills over 6 months ? good LORD. My wife has a ruptured disk in her spine and often can barely move from the pain (her last option is spinal fusion surgery, but shes holding that as an absolute last resort as it has a high fuckup rate), her pain medication is maybe 30-40 painkillers and muscle relaxants per month. She`s had to change providers due to her HMO yanking funding for a specific program, and now the pain specialist has dropped her to darvoocets that are 1/8th the strength of her prior medicine (oxycodone) and is saying `lose weight and you`ll get meds, dont and we cant continue help you`. She in no way is addicted to the medications, taking them purely to be able to have some kind of life, and there are many days she doesnt -need- them so doesnt take them. But 2,000 pills over 6 months? thats just .. incredible. If my wife can get -that- kind of care at the bottom end of health care, you have to think that Limbaugh was throwing some SERIOUS money around to get that many meds. Do not go gently into that good night.
