Yuppy And The Alien
November 12th 2002, 16:56 CET by deadlock

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City has been out a few days now and I'm sure a few of you have picked it up - I know I have. I'd like to know your opinions on it.

How does it rate against GTA3? Was the move to give the central character a name and a voice a good one? Pulled off any wild tricks on a motorbike? Just how annoying are the load times, anyway? Any thoughts at all that you have, post 'em in this thread.

See? In Australia they need to get their warez via mail.  Hand-me-downs from people in modern countries who have Internet speeds greater than 300 bps.

I hope not. Just jack some rockets somewhere and you are ready for some nasty buisness. Maybe the terrorists bought it!

Actually it's only sort of even at subsonic speeds. Since it's experimental certificate is for exhibition it has special restrictions-
(d) Exhibition. Exhibiting the aircraft's flight capabilities, performance, or unusual characteristics at air shows, motion picture, television, and similar productions, and the maintenance of exhibition flight proficiency, including (for persons exhibiting aircraft) flying to and from such air shows and productions.

From imdb.com

Diesel Wants to be Taken Seriously

Tinseltown beefcake Vin Diesel is sick of making action movies - because he wants to be taken serious as an actor. The XXX star believes Hollywood has pigeon-holed him in the action genre and wants to branch out into different film types, including adaptations of Shakespeare. One movie executive says, "He wants to be the next Tom Hanks." Another film boss adds, "Maybe he can just go do (William Shakespeare) in one movie and get it out of his system, like Keanu (Reeves)." However Diesel's thespian dreams will have to be put on hold for now. Vin has several action flicks in the pipeline, including A Man Apart, Pitch Black sequel The Chronicles Of Riddick and XXX2. Vin recently met up with Nicole Kidman to discuss the prospect of a remake of Guys And Dolls.

I. Seriously. Doubt. It.

Reed Rothchild: Have you seen that Star Wars movie?
Eddie Adams: Yeah, I've seen it four times.

GTA:VC is a great game. It's something that one can really sit down and really sink a couple of hours into if you're willing. For me, that's a long period of playing time. My gaming usually come in smaller increments because of my schedule and my overwhelming need for sleep. However, VC made me pull some later nights than I would have with a regular game.

What I think LC gets done very well, better than Liberty City (LC) is a sense of "fuller " world. I feel like I had more places to go and asphault to skid on in LC but VC seems more densely packed in a lesser space(the helicoptor helps VC feel "fuller" as well. The islands are big but alot of that is taken up by beach, golf course, and airport which are not used that frequently. Sure, I have caught a couple bugs and some of the missions have seem unusually unbalanced yet none of that detracts that much from the fun I've been having.

Motorcycles: Awesome.
I find I spend alot of my time just trying to trick my motocycle off things, trials type stuff. VC really is the current epitome of a "sandbox"-type of game(SP). It's filled to the brim with numerous tasks, missions, tricks, games, searches, whatever. Plus many people seem to just be content to run around and interact with the world in whatever manner suits their mood. Not many games give people that feeling I think.
