Px Done with gags and I already? No FB love? WHY DO YOU HATE US!?!? ;) "programmers talk from a very deep gnome cavern, full of gold mechanics" - wisdom from the ancients
Facebook is not something I visit a lot. It automagically updates my status from Twitter. So. Yeah. Might be time for email? |
I'll buy it at a Steam sale. Or borrow my bother's copy when he's done, he was dumb enough to pre-order it. |
Did he pre-order it recently, or back in 1999? |
Px So go to FB and reply with a good email address, since I do not remember yours. Or reply here. Or send it telepathically. At least one of those should work. "programmers talk from a very deep gnome cavern, full of gold mechanics" - wisdom from the ancients

Holy shit, Hulka is back? She's probably had sex with like 4 different guys by now and has no idea who he is anymore, his face lost in a memory sea of dicks.

Crapsifter tells me he tends to return briefly at the mention of Duke Nukem. |

I won't be playing it. You guys let me know how it is. 52 Weeks and Something's On Movie Blog

but will it come with the unfinished quake2 engine version? and all of the other engine revisions? |
5 quid says they make one copy only, so they can say it sold out almost immediately. "One part disembowels me while another slowly eats its way through the gas line. As I bleed out on the floor, it reminds me that I need to buy milk." - Jibble

You see, the gun is suppose to be his penis. <Hugin_len> Basically, cheesy doesn't have awful taste in music, he's simply very white.

I think they are overestimating how "iconic" Duke Nukem really is. |
it's more correct to say, how iconic he is NOW. "Testiculos habet et bene pendentes" - "He has testicles, and they dangle nicely."

Say, if one were to just flat-out buy a PC, where would you get a decent machine at a good price? I have one app that doesn't like my MacPro/OSX and I wouldn't mind getting a separate Windows productivity box for it 'cause I use it that often. I haven't purchased a PC in forever, though, so I have no goddamn clue where to go. Shuttle barebones? I seem to recall those were a decent alternative to building one yourself. (I can do that, build one myself, but I don't want to. No time.) |
Dell :S |
No. Dell has really gone into the shitter. Warranty is pure hell too. If you want like a machine that would be decent enough at gaming, my friend just got a build from ibuypower.com and it turned out really well. Though I dunno why you don't dual boot your mac. If you just want like a work PC, HP or Lenovo is good enough for that. Lenovo has the better warranty service, but they essentially use off the shelf parts, mostly Asus mainboards. I'm talking business machines here. They all make shitty consumer systems. "Testiculos habet et bene pendentes" - "He has testicles, and they dangle nicely."
"LP, your big balls are a religion." - Jibble |
ibuypower - noted! I'm often rendering stuff on my MacPro and it would be advantageous to be drawing in this app on a Windows box while my Pro uses it's eight cores and gobs of memory on the boring stuff. |
While I would still build myself, I guess there's no hurt in buying a HP or... not Acer (crap history) and not Dell (warranty hell). But just briefly looking at iBuyPower, I'd go with this gaming \"rig\" or maybe this one with Phenom instead of Athlon and 8GB of RAM. But that depends on what the app you're going to use will be. If you're never going to use it as a gaming PC, then you can go much lower with the price, obviously. Parhelic Triangle is coming. Eventually.
Have you thought about a VM Px? I use vmware fusion on my mac pro to run IE and other inferior applications for testing. It's fairly seamless, you can enable some mode which takes each individual program and promotes it to it's own OSX style window. Might be a cheaper option if you could spare a core. |
you know Milan, I've gotten to the point where I'm just tired of building and rebuilding my PC. I think I'm going to just go the ibuypower route myself next go round. I do this for a living so it kind of gets to be old hat after awhile. "Testiculos habet et bene pendentes" - "He has testicles, and they dangle nicely."
"LP, your big balls are a religion." - Jibble |
I can absolutely see what you're saying, LP. To be honest I was impressed by ibuypower, but I don't trust companies that are around that provide PCs customizable online; plus I rebuild once in 3-4 years so it's not a big deal. Parhelic Triangle is coming. Eventually.
When I bought an ibuypower years ago they forgot to ship the ram in the machine. Hopefully their quality has improved since then. |
according to reseller ratings, they are much better. I dunno, my friend was happy. I'm just throwing them out there. "Testiculos habet et bene pendentes" - "He has testicles, and they dangle nicely."

It must suck to live places that aren't full of Asians. I've never actually put a computer together myself, but I always pick my components. "I hope you one day decide to smarten the fuck up so I can stand to look at your posts." - gaggle

Some more gameplay footage... |
Argh, he's so full of shit and the game looks awful. Parhelic Triangle is coming. Eventually.
This makes me more excited than any of the Duke footage. I can't believe it got leaked though. The story is that an early build of Crysis 2 is out on the Intarwebs containing the full story and multiplayer. That is not good news for a game just a month from release. |
The last leak I bothered with was Stalker. THAT was a proper alpha, not this "oh it's sooo unfinished" bullshit. |
I kept trying to skip ahead in that Crysis video to where I could see something, but it was just black the whole time. I'll take Duke. |
#46 by Shadarr It must suck to live places that aren't full of Asians. I've never actually put a computer together myself, but I always pick my components. We have Asians, but no Fry's, and all the local nerd shops are way too expensive and crappy. We do have a Microcenter, at least. I would kill for a Fry's to open up here though. Speaking of Asians, Interesting video on the developed world vs. the developing world. |
LP I bought mine about six years ago. With the constant raves I hear about them now they must have fixed something. |
I had to go to a funeral for a three-year-old yesterday. The daughter of a guy that works for me passed away last week. Kid funerals are horrible and I really have to figure out a way to never attend another one without feeing guilty. |
Yeah, it's not supposed to happen like that, is it? Children should bury their parents. No parent would want it any other way, I believe. "Dort, wo man Bücher verbrennt, verbrennt man auch am Ende Menschen."
- Heinrich Heine |
It was also an open casket. I'll be fine if I never see another open casket again. |
Geez. I'm not sure I could take an open casket funeral for a child. That's pretty much worst nightmare material for me. On a lighter note, both my kids got a projectile vomiting stomach bug over the last few days. My 4 year old was downright pathetic in a heart wrenching kind of way when she's pleading for something to drink and saying "But I'm super, super thirsty!" and I couldn't let her have anything because she couldn't keep even water down. Of course, I neglected to take the cup off her bathroom counter, so in the middle of the night she got up, chugged like five cups of water, then promptly sprayed it all over every surface in her bedroom. Not that we're looking to get pregnant over here, but if it happens anyway, should I just go ahead and tile everything as a precautionary measure? "Dort, wo man Bücher verbrennt, verbrennt man auch am Ende Menschen."

Better to just line the walls, floors, furniture, electronics...well, I guess everything...with plastic. That way you can just remove the soiled portion and replace as necessary. Or you could just strap a puke bag to their face. Your call, really. |

Nah, here's a secret: poop, barf, and all that stuff wash off. blog | Twitter | The Psychology of Gaming
"It was a little hard to tell how bad I was bleeding on account of the salsa" -- Jibble |

Maybe, but it's really gross to wash it. My non-parent head tells me that they're little people and that volume of gross should be small, but I bet it isn't. I bet they barf and poop incredible amounts for their size. <Hugin_len> Basically, cheesy doesn't have awful taste in music, he's simply very white.

I bet they barf and poop incredible amounts for their size. As a non parent, you have great insight into what it is like being a parent. I will remember the time my son projectile pooped on me for the rest of my life most likely. To be fair, there are a LOT of other memories I think of first. It all balances out I guess... Trying to get vomit out of carpet doesn't sound like much fun to me, even the thirtieth time. And this is from a guy who has cleaned a number of horrifying shitsplosions in his time. There's something about the smell of vomit that is uniquely terrible to me. |
I maybe would have told her that she can drink all the water she wants to, but she'd have to sleep in the bathtub or something. "Dort, wo man Bücher verbrennt, verbrennt man auch am Ende Menschen."

All that in a DNF thread! How appropriate. Parhelic Triangle is coming. Eventually.
