Dear 49ers,

Please do me a favor and make Kurt Warner a contract offer, because he'll either find out that the Cardinals are making him a very fair offer and he'll accept it, or else you'll overpay for him and we can take that money and spend it in other areas. Either way, I don't have to hear about it anymore.

Thank you,

yotsuya

P.S. I told you Alex Smith's hands were too small.

You know what they say about small hands...

They fumble a lot? Yup.

So you're saying Kurt Warner has small hands?

He has crooked fingers. Do your homework.

And actually, he only had 2 fumbles this year. Look, it up.

Are there rumours that the Niners are interested in Warner?  It would be kind of silly to bring him in the year after we have Martz.  Does he really want to just hand the ball off 30 times a game?

It should be, he'd have to be retarded to make that switch.  The only way he should leave the Cards is if they don't want him back a la Favre and the Packers.  That or if he cares about nothing except money.

It's funny, during SB week, most experts felt the Cards would need to offer him $8-$10 mil to resign. The Cards have offered $10 mil a year, but that's not good enough? I don't have a problem with them holding firm to that. Yeah, they need Warner, but not to the tune of $14-$16 mil a year, which is what he's seeking. That would be over half of what is left in their salary cap space (after using the Franchise Tag on Dansby).

#116 by Trunks
2009-03-02 20:43:58
That list is incomplete, it doesn't show fumbles on pass attempts. He actually had 11. 13 if you count the 2 from the SB.

Compared to Alex Smith's zero, that's pretty bad.

Good info, Trunks. 2 seemed low to me, but that's what ESPN showed. Still, his fumbles didn't really hurt the team as they did in years past. Some bad picks, yes. Fumbles, not really.

Again, I'm surprised the Niners are not behind Shaun Hill. I'm no Niners lover, but I think he did a good job as a starter, compared to J.T. 'I've Got The Perfect Sports Bar Name' O'Sullivan.

I'm not really sure either.  Hill seems like the perfect QB for Singletary.  He protects the ball, he manages the game, and he's got heart.  And he's younger than Warner.  Let him be the starter and bring in somebody young to be the future.  We're not a QB away from the Super Bowl.

The Bucs picked up Ward. Maybe this actually a new Bucs team and back office?

We've got Ward, Winslow and they signed Mark Clayton to a four year deal. Interesting moves for sure.

Sports content!

Actually, just my first attempt at video podcasting for my fantasy football podcast, previously 55 episodes old as audio only. It was a conversation with someone else, as usual, but Ustream only recorded my side so I look like a crazy person talking to myself. Worse, we had a 20 second delay for some reason, so I go doo-de-doo for 20 seconds after each time I speak, making me look even more loopy.

No problem, we've got Ernest Graham who could easily be a starting running back elsewhere and potentially Williams, if he can come back from the new injury again. We'll see.

Sounds like the bucs are going with a rebuilding year with some weapons. They probably won't end up getting a QB in free agency, though it looked like Cutler was really close there for a bit (god that would have been awesome). Instead we're sticking with McKnown, Griese, and Josh Johnsen. My personal preference would be to let Griese go at for a while and if Josh can step in later, great. Who knows though.

Our defense is going to be sorely lacking this year...

'I shall of these three fools now make my purse,' Marbury was heard to say after the game, although he appeared to be addressing no one and perhaps spoke only to himself. 'These stars are of a free and open nature, / And think men honest that but seem to be so, / And will as tenderly be led by the nose / As asses are.'

The Keith & The Girl podcast had a bloke on a week or two ago who was a writer for the Onion. However, he didn't write the articles, just the headlines. Apparently the headlines come mostly from standup comics, which the paid permanent staff then write articles for. A weird way to do it. No wonder the articles are often so crappy in comparison to the awesome headline.

Last Friday at midnight the new Jets coach along with two assistants were camped outside a players house to recruit him as soon as the free agency signing period began. They ended up signing him to a $48,000,000 contract.

Yesterday the Jets forced all business operations employees to take a two week unpaid furlough during June. This is from a team that sells out every home game, and operates with a multi-billion dollar TV deal that has not seen any reduction in revenue. What a fucking joke.

Huh?

What does the size of the corporation have to do with anything? Are you suggesting we're not talking about hundreds of people here?

It doesn't have to be a large corporation for it to not care about it's employees. The more money the corp. makes, the more fuckage it likes to deliver to it's employees. Not all corps, but that's the general rule of them.

If that's what you were asking...
