GTA:IV-ever
April 28th 2008, 21:28 CEST by CheesyPoof Talk, play, bitch, whatever. The game is getting A+'s and 10/10 all over the place, including the tight wads at EuroGamer. We must also strike while the iron is hot to organize any PC play sessions, 360 only, sorry Bob. And doubly sorry to PC only gamers (sorry Dum). |

I marked them all on my map for the first two islands but I haven't done it for algonquin yet. I wish I had a safehouse on broker still. |
I didn't find anything without looking online except two pigeons and a bat. And I haven't picked up the bat, because I like the knife better. Witnesses in the house heard Jones say "why did you pee on me Pooh Bear?" A few moments later, the witness heard the son say "Mama you done stabbed me."
So after saying that, I found grenades in the construction zone that blocks the street south of the comedy club. Witnesses in the house heard Jones say "why did you pee on me Pooh Bear?" A few moments later, the witness heard the son say "Mama you done stabbed me."

This is probably years and years out of date, but I just watched the first episode of Wonderfalls and rather liked it. On that note, and veering surprisingly on topic, I'll go play GTAIV. "Using [sandbox elements] to play a melody, following a script, diction, or formula if you would, takes this cacophonous system and gives it harmony, and takes random notes and turns them into music." - bago
PS: I lied. I played a bit of WoW instead. Maybe vehicular manslaughter tomorrow. "Using [sandbox elements] to play a melody, following a script, diction, or formula if you would, takes this cacophonous system and gives it harmony, and takes random notes and turns them into music." - bago
Wonderfalls was very fun, and a great DVD set, as they actually finish the story. Game Developers: Don't forget the zombie monkeys.
Between GTAIV, WoW and Wonderfalls I've chosen to watch In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Sige Tale. I'm unsure why exactly I went this route. "Using [sandbox elements] to play a melody, following a script, diction, or formula if you would, takes this cacophonous system and gives it harmony, and takes random notes and turns them into music." - bago

I found it a tolerable movie. I expected Burt Reynolds to phone it in, and he really didn't. |^^^^^^^^^^^^ |||__

I'm rewatching Sports Night again. It still rocks. It's not a story that was being told to them in cut-scenes from the game designers' point of view." - Will Wright

My wife and I are watching 24 Season 6 and Babylon 5 season 2. "Action stars of two decades ago shot .44 bullets out of their cocks. Honestly, if me and Charles Bronson were in the same room I'd kill myself just to make sure he didn't hurt me."
We were watching Temple of Doom, but it got to that bit with the bugs, sooooo I think I'll go back to Oblivion. |
been watching my way back through Babylon5 currently watching Z`ha`dum some great writing, snappy dialogue, god awful acting. |
I just finished season 5 of the Shield and am anxiously awaiting when season 6 will be available on Netflix. I can't remember ever getting this addicted to a TV show. Bellydance!

Oh, that Vic Mackie... |
I'd like to watch through all of Miami Vice again. I so loved this show! My dad let me watch it, even though it was a bit bloody. Even back then, as a kid, I could appreciate the greatness of its settings, driving scenes with silent characters and Phil Collins playing in the background... Then of course the clothes, that strange "Noogie" or "Nukeman" or however he was called (wasn't the character killed?), Stan and his van... I remember being shit scared of the scar-faced, grumbling Edward J. Olmos who was always stone cold and deadly calm but somehow always seemed dangerous and menacing to me, the boat races... This show truly had it all. It's unrepeatable. "Action stars of two decades ago shot .44 bullets out of their cocks. Honestly, if me and Charles Bronson were in the same room I'd kill myself just to make sure he didn't hurt me."

I've been sick all weekend and preparing for a trial that starts on Wednesday. Went to a Mets game earlier today though. |
FoRMaT- I got Season 1 of Miami Vice a while back and watched it through. I enjoyed it, and might pick up more. |
All you need to do it watch a few show of Miami Vice to know it should stay in the 80's. And why the fuck was it vice? It should have been called Miami Narc. I tried that hospital mission in GTA. It was annoying but I was able to get out of the hospital on my first try only to find a Bobcat outside waiting for me. Needless to say evading a 3 star chase in a Bobcat was very frustrating. I had a sliver of health left and made my boneheaded move of the day. Given how the game likes to spawn cop cars in front of you, when I got outside of the search radius (for the second time) I thought it would be a great idea to ditch my car and get into a different one. So, instead of stopping the car I push the button to bail. Before the animation completes I know what a dumb ass move that was as I watch Nico tumble out of the car and see the life knocked out of him causing a fission mailed. Sigh. I also learned that during a delivery mission for Little Jacob that cars no longer double as armor. I was hemmed in by some gang members and didn't have any armor so I got in a car only to find myself getting shot through the windshield and dying. <Hugin_len> Basically, cheesy doesn't have awful taste in music, he's simply very white.

Miami Vice deserves to stay dead for making me think an electric blue Chess King sport coat and matching hat was fashionable. (Although they did look good on my college girlfriend). Game Developers: Don't forget the zombie monkeys.

I also learned that during a delivery mission for Little Jacob that cars no longer double as armor. Yeah, that was a slightly cheesy but nice mechanic in Saints Row. You could sit in your car, headshot guys through their windshields and not take any damage yourself. When your car caught fire you just get another one. In this game there's really no advantage to staying in the car unless you're chasing someone. I just did a mission on the third island where I had to lose a three star level and thought going to the pay n spray would be a good idea. However both times I tried to go in there the cops were too close and saw me, so then I just drove really fast until I got out of the search area. Actually, at first it was just two stars but the first time I went to go into the pay n spray I thought it would be a good idea to kill the cops who were there. But as soon as I did I got the third star and about five more cop cars showed up immediately. Witnesses in the house heard Jones say "why did you pee on me Pooh Bear?" A few moments later, the witness heard the son say "Mama you done stabbed me."

All you need to do it watch a few show of Miami Vice to know it should stay in the 80's. And why the fuck was it vice? It should have been called Miami Narc. You obviously didn't see the episodes where they dealt with things like stolen goods and prostitution. You know, Vices. And of course it should "stay in the 80s". It's an artifact of the 80s, and when viewed it should be seen as such. My thing is, who the hell told Don Johnson he looked COOL in pastel pink muscle shirts? |
Miami Vice was all about taking down drug lords and posing a fancy coke dealers. Pfffttt. I shouldn't say cars aren't useful as armor, they still can be, but you have to be outside it and in cover. And as long as no one is behind capping your ass you will be fine. I like it better when getting in a car mean I was in a protective cocoon. And the whole thing with Pay & Spray, ugh, that shit needs to be patched out ASAP. <Hugin_len> Basically, cheesy doesn't have awful taste in music, he's simply very white.

gaggle (#909): #902 by TreeFrog We were watching Temple of Doom, but it got to that bit with the bugs, sooooo I think I'll go back to Oblivion. Why? Are you shitting me? Millions upon millions of bugs? With their horrible spindly legs and beady eyes? Fuck that noise. In other news, my horse got trapped inside Leyawiin. God only knows how that happened. The official forum was no use for finding a solution due to its crappy search engine, but Google revealed the existence of a "moveto player" command, so all is now well again. Magery appears to be far more effective than archery, but the game really, REALLY needs more than 8 hotkeys. |
shadarr Yeah, that was a slightly cheesy but nice mechanic in Saints Row. You could sit in your car, headshot guys through their windshields and not take any damage yourself. And that's good? I like the fact that you can get taken down pretty easily in a car - it makes road blocks altogether more dangerous things - when you see one, it's often better to turn around than to try and barge through it. Have any of you tried multiplayer yet? We should have a PC game of Cops and Crooks. The Some Fuckers Gotta Die Brigade should play as cops, headed up by G-Man, since he is the closest definition we have here to the Law. They'd be up against the posters with wantonly criminal tendencies such as Dum, bago, Matt P, Ds, Shadarr and headed up by Ray for facepunching reasons. It'll never happen, of course. - words and stuff -

Sorry, but my arbitrary methods won't be so easily classified. Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want and deserve to get it good and hard.

This is blasphemy! Miami Vice indeed hasn't aged too well in the clothes department, and some younger viewers might thinks the characters escaped from a circus, but if you have lived the 80's you know people did dress like that, ie. really crappy. I mean, look at Terminator 1: it's a great film but it has aged badly. Just look at Sarah's hair or listen to the music in the Tech Noir. The other day I watched "Bachelor Party" with Tom Hanks and it's just like this, too. You can't single out Miami Vice for being a child of the 80s. Miami Vice was all about taking down drug lords and posing a fancy coke dealers. Pfffttt. That's infinitely more interesting than seeing Eric Estrada as a motorcycle cop writing speeding tickets. You guys must really hate Scarface. /unsubscribe "Action stars of two decades ago shot .44 bullets out of their cocks. #919 by TreeFrog Are you shitting me? Millions upon millions of bugs? With their horrible spindly legs and beady eyes? Fuck that noise. Aww, what a cute little phobia? Well I didn't know if it was that or because you were bored or something, but I guess now I know who wears the pants at your place huh :) "Using [sandbox elements] to play a melody, following a script, diction, or formula if you would, takes this cacophonous system and gives it harmony, and takes random notes and turns them into music." - bago

(it is a disturbing scene on several levels, this I do not argue) "Using [sandbox elements] to play a melody, following a script, diction, or formula if you would, takes this cacophonous system and gives it harmony, and takes random notes and turns them into music." - bago

#925 by TreeFrog Never trust anything with more than 4 legs. True. Wait, does this mean you like or dislike Starship Troopers (greatestmovieevermadeetcetc.) "Using [sandbox elements] to play a melody, following a script, diction, or formula if you would, takes this cacophonous system and gives it harmony, and takes random notes and turns them into music." - bago

Incorrect! You will scream at the top of your lungs how much you love it or God will strike you down. I thought your favourite movie was "Howard the Duck"? "Action stars of two decades ago shot .44 bullets out of their cocks. Honestly, if me and Charles Bronson were in the same room I'd kill myself just to make sure he didn't hurt me."

I like the fact that you can get taken down pretty easily in a car - it makes road blocks altogether more dangerous things - when you see one, it's often better to turn around than to try and barge through it. And that's good? Death comes far too easily in GTA4. It's hard to get a nice rampage going when a single cop can easily take off half your health. "If everybody has a very different story and a very different experience, then it's very personal and they were driving the story by playing the game. It's not a story that was being told to them in cut-scenes from the game designers' point of view." - Will Wright
Yay for realism (but I say that seriously). Other games can and will provide over-the-top action. "Using [sandbox elements] to play a melody, following a script, diction, or formula if you would, takes this cacophonous system and gives it harmony, and takes random notes and turns them into music." - bago
Other games like GTA, GTA:London, GTA2, GTA3, GTA:VC, and GTA:SA. "If everybody has a very different story and a very different experience, then it's very personal and they were driving the story by playing the game. It's not a story that was being told to them in cut-scenes from the game designers' point of view." - Will Wright
Also, bad gaggle. Bad. "Yay for realism" is never something that should come out of a gamer's mouth. Or his hands. Or, in this case, his ass. "If everybody has a very different story and a very different experience, then it's very personal and they were driving the story by playing the game. It's not a story that was being told to them in cut-scenes from the game designers' point of view." - Will Wright
I was pretty tired of running from the cops in the past 5 GTA games, the new cop mechanic just makes it more annoying. <Hugin_len> Basically, cheesy doesn't have awful taste in music, he's simply very white.
#935 by BobJustBob Other games like GTA, GTA:London, GTA2, GTA3, GTA:VC, and GTA:SA. Sure, you can go play those. Or Crackdown or anything else you fancy. It's all good. "Using [sandbox elements] to play a melody, following a script, diction, or formula if you would, takes this cacophonous system and gives it harmony, and takes random notes and turns them into music." - bago
I'm just saying that the series shouldn't be devolving. "If everybody has a very different story and a very different experience, then it's very personal and they were driving the story by playing the game. It's not a story that was being told to them in cut-scenes from the game designers' point of view." - Will Wright

Fuck that noise. Just because the laws are wrong, doesn't mean I am. That and I prefer to play the cops in that game. More firepower. It'll never happen, of course. qft "the concept that a happy worker is a productive worker is hardly an entry from Matt's Big Book Of Things The Fairies Said." - Dum

Bob, just shush. You're crying about game that believes realism is a feature...having realistic features. Sure, not everything is a realistic, but complaining that cars are no longer armor is just plain silly.
