Santa Claus is Coming to Town!
November 29th 2007, 21:11 CET by Chunkstyle

And he wants you to wear his hat.  It's the happiest/suicidiest time of year again, so what are you asking for / buying others / killing yourself with?   What are your favorite / most hated Christmas songs?  Or which minor alternative holidays will you be observig instead?

I thought Futurama came out this week, on the 27th? I'm still on the fence as to whether I'm going to buy it. On the one hand, I have the complete series on DVD up to this point so keeping the collection complete would be good. On the other hand, I've really only watched them once anyway, so why not rent?

I don't really have a wish list for the same reason as Gabe, but I'll need to come up with one to avoid getting socks.  But we also usually have a $50 or $100 cap, and this year the girlfriend and I will forgo gifts entirely because we're already paying for a train trip back from Edmonton.

Futurama came out this week, but I'm not planning on ordering it until next week. I'm not really sure why, since I've got Amazon Prime. It's too late now, anyway.

I watch Futurama all the time. I ripped every episode to an external hard drive and set up a random playlist. Now I always have something to watch! I was going to add in some other shows like Sealab and Arrested Development but, fuck, ripping and re-encoding that stuff is such a pain in the ass.

Yeah, my wife and I are skipping gifts for each other this year because our credit card bills are getting up there. It also hurts that my kids' birthdays are in December and January.

My brother and both my sisters buy a gift, plus my parents, grandfather, grandmother, great aunt, and aunt, so I need the list to avoid a lot of random crap.

I admit I don't mind the socks that much...

Bender's Big Score is good. I went in a little nervous that it wouldn't live up to the prior quality, but it did.

I good at waiting to buy stuff, and I don't mind waiting during the holidays so that I can get good Christmas gifts. If there's something that I really want and don't get, I'll buy it afterwards.

I'm trying to come up with a Xmas list and I'm finding it really hard.  Most of what I want is far beyond the acceptable price range.

No hat for me right now (there's a baby laying on me, so Photoshop is difficult). I already got what I want for Christmas. The 360 came early, then Max, then new Futurama, then my wife went up to an F cup. Merry Christmas to me.

I see my plan to keep my hat all year worked perfectly. So perfectly that I forgot I did it.

I'll append to that, since I'm correcting. She also already lost all the baby weight and then some. Unfortunately, things will have to wait for a few weeks, but as I said...Christmas. Woo.

I like the christmas song that plays at the end of Die Hard. The most depressing christmas movie was Gremlins. I don´t have a christmas list because I´m poor and unpopular, so nobody will give me a present anyway. If I were to have a wish list though, I´d love me a Xbox 360. Since it came out I wanted one but the last time I had the oportunity to get one it was either that or a [url=http://www.htc.com/product/03-product_p6300.htm]HTC Trinity[/], which I ended up buying (great phone! That´s my phone, btw. Not the first one I linked. There were rumors the phone had an unannounced-by-HTC internal GPS antenna but that was disabled in the firmware because of incompatibily with the phone´s Bluetooh chipset, which turned out to be true. The antenna was later activated with a firmware upgrade, and works very good. The HTC site STILL doesn´t mention the GPS antenna... Also, in Asian and New Zealand/Australia markets, the phone got an official Windows Mobile 6 firmware upgrade, which is not planned to be released for Europe. Korean cocksuckers! Anyway, there are plenty homebrew WM6 roms for the device, ripped from other HTC products, plus you can circumvent the phones vendor ID check and install the NZ/AUS upgrade. I´m very happy with this phone, and can recommend it wholeheartedly.
