I was surprised the X-Sports still exist. And are still televised. So was I. However, the best part was after he hit the ground and the main announcer freaked out, someone (the guy on Sportscenter said it was Tony Hawk) said "I can't believe he landed a 720". |

I have jumped from twelve feet and landed on my feet in grass, I've jumped from 50 feet and landed on my feet in water. I don't care to do anything like that ever, ever, again. So it's very easy for me to cringe whenever someone's in a fall like that, anon. I don't expect them to die, but wouldn't be surprised at a broken bone or two. |

Come on, you know I wasn't serious. Even though he walked away from it, his body will have a very lasting memory of that impact, I'm sure. Can we at least say that he left a strong impression? What I love about the video is that at the apex of his ascent, everyone in that arena, including him, knew what was going to happen and was waiting for the impact. To quote Oscar Wilde/Willy Wonka: "The suspense is terrible... I hope it'll last." I watched Aliens, and I didn't even get a lousy t-shirt.

When I was a kid there was this contraption someone had built over the river, with several floors. The highest one was just under / around five stories up. The kind of silly thing you do once, just for the hell of it, so that you can go, years later, "Yeah, I did that." Although these days you could just be like everyone else on the internet and make shit up, but that's not nearly as fun. |

If I cared about baseball at all, I might be a bit peeved that a man who, by all accounts, is a big time steroid/stuff user. But, it being that I don't care, I chuckle at the thought. I was watching the Giants and the Dodgers go at it in the Hotel bar's TV and a ton of people were either joining me or stopping by for updates. Still, this would be much bigger if it weren't Bonds. Probably. I heard an opinion that the driving force behind Bonds taking steroids was longevity. Of course, until steroid use is proven, the point is kinda moot. Bonds and A-Rod were harder runners that Aaron. The play hard defense and stole more bases. I think A-Rods legs will start giving out around the mid 30's and I don't think that he will feel the need to stick around to be HR king. Again, Bonds had a giant ego and such spite against his haters that he really has gone above and beyond to hit this milestone. That's just the way I see it. My crummy little life

To be fair, Bonds isn't accused of just taking 'roids, but also HGH and a slew of other things. HGH is not only untestable, but that's exactly what it's supposed to do. It was amusing that the other day I was talking to a coworker about how A-Rod has been seemingly doing what he's done on the level, and then the next day I see a headline on CNN.com's sports section where Larry 'Chipper' Jones was saying that steroids were going to follow him, too. Apparently Jose Canseco says he has some "info" about A-Rod. And really, Canseco hasn't been much wrong, even if he looks the fool. |^^^^^^^^^^^^ |||__
