WOO!! WOO!! WOO!! WOO!! WOO!! WOO!! WOO!! WOO!!

AND MOTHERFUCKING ONE!!!!!

WOO!! WOO!! WOO!! WOO!! WOO!! WOO!! WOO!! WOO!!

The best part, the Pats scored less than what Burress 'predicted' which Brady felt was a slight on their offense.

Unfortunately for me I missed over 58 minutes of the game.

The week between the Tampa game and the Cowboy game I had to book a flight to St. Louis for this week and I totally forgot about the super bowl*. I ended up booking a 4:35 flight out of Newark which would have been due to land in STL an hour after kickoff.

It was a great day for flying, the sky was clear and the wind was non-existant at EWR. The plane wasn't full and 15 min before departure we were all on board and buckled up**. However, there was no captain. We wait 45 min before a captain show up and left an hour late. If that wasn't enough there was a fierce headwind and the flight took the full 3 hours that were allotted to it. We landed at 8:30 EST. I was pretty flabbergasted that the score was still 7-3. The FA was going to give me updates through the flight on it and ending up giving me one update.

The game was on in the airport and at the baggage claim I saw the 4 & 13 that the Pats didn't convert. When I finally go to the rental car I found Marv Albert and Boomer calling the action and it was just after the Tyree touchdown. However, the AM in STL sucks*** and the closer I got to Chesterfield the worse the reception got. It got to the point that I couldn't hear anything.

To make matters worse it was really foggy and the physical landmarks I was looking for from my last trip out here were not visible and I ended up going to far and getting lost. Eventually I found my way, dropped my co-worker off at his hotel and made it to mine right at the 2 min warning. The check in girl was fast an efficient and had a room close to the front desk. I turned the TV on and it was 4th and one. I watched Brandon Jacobs bull his way for a first down and was cheering with my wife on the phone. The rest is history.

* regardless of the Giants I would have rather been home to watch it.
** I was wearing my Giants sweatshirt and the FA was a fan too and gave me the whole exit row, so that was good.
*** I assume it was STL, but for all I know it could have been from Chicago.

Oh, that's beautiful.

I'd say it's perfect.

All schadenfraude aside, that was a great game to watch. In hindsight, going for it on 4th and 13 instead of trying the 49 yard field goal really bit them in the ass. At the time and with the offense they have it's somewhat defensible, they probably wanted to go for the two possession lead and a 49 yard kick is no gimme, but it's still 4th and 13, it can't be a high conversion percentage on those.

Oh yeah, what's up with having a fly-by over a closed roof stadium? That's even more a waste of jet fuel then usual.

The only funny ad I remember (the Amp ad with the jumper cables was memorably horrifying) was the Pepsi Max "what is love" ad early in the game.

You can still the the outline of the jets through the fabric roof. They did one during the Veteran's Day weekend game. It looks pretty cool.

I hope that Spagnulo does not take the Redskins job if offered. One the one hand I am greedy and would like him to be the defensive coordinator for another year, but on the other hand the Redskins are a basket case of an organization. I'd imagine being a head coach you would want to hire your staff, but they do it ass backwards and hired the off. & def. coordinators before the head coach. I'd think that's a big red flag to steer clear.

That was the best Superbowl in a good long time and just because the Giants won. It was an awesome game to watch, start to finish.

And the Giants pulling it out in the end...wow. Maybe we won't hear anymore ditch Eli talk in NY...at least for a few games.

It's probably the 19-0 book that quite explicitly says on the cover "will only go into production if the Patriots win the Super Bowl."

You know, like all those hats and t-shirts that were made for each team in the event that they won. It's a nonstory.

Even book publishers didn't give the Giants a chance. That's pretty awesome. I heard on the radio some guy trademarked some statement like "19-0 The Perfect Season" or something like that and big companies were going to give him 5% to use his trademarked statement...he would have made millions had the Pats won the game.

Don Nelson names Webber as starter

The Warriors' starting lineup is getting a fourth untouchable. Coach Don Nelson is sold enough on Chris Webber's playmaking and productivity in minicamp that he has declared the newcomer a permanent member of his tip-off crew.

"Absolutely, I think he should start," Nelson said after practice Monday. "I'm planning on starting him every game."

Webber, 34, has come off the bench only three times in more than 900 career games, and Nelson sees no reason to add a fourth when Webber debuts against Chicago on Thursday.

Instead, the 6-foot-10 forward is slated to join Baron Davis, Monta Ellis, and Stephen Jackson in the everyday starting lineup, with the matchup-happy Nelson choosing his fifth starter on a game-by-game basis.

That's hardly a fit...but maybe if they don't have him run, just stand on the offensive side and throw the ball to him when they get it, it'll work out. Maybe he can get a chair for that side or something to rest his tall man knees.

Well, if you had, you would have seen that the Suns are 20-2 against the East and 14-12 against the West. They need a big man to stay competative in the West (that 37-14 record is inflated by the woeful East). Look at these four centers in the West:

San Antonio -Tim Duncan,
Houston - Yao Ming,
New Orleans - Tyson Chandler,
Los Angeles Lakers - Andrew Bynum

All these teams have beaten the Suns at least once this year, and some twice. Why? Their big man has gone off for major points. Hell, Al Jefferson had two 30-10 games against us this year, and we lost to the T-Wolves TWICE. With Marion, we've been to ZERO finals, and I have no doubt this team would have eventually lost to a team to one of the above teams (except maybe Houston). Shaw give the team a different look, and besides, you don't need 5 players to run the fast break. He's not even going to be the #3 scoring option on this team.

As for Shaq's health- if you follow basketball, you know how Shaq's health ties in with his motivation.

Lawyers say McNamee has physical evidence on Clemens

His side turned over gauze pads and syringes they said had Clemens' blood to IRS Special Agent Jeff Novitzky in early January, a person familiar with the evidence said, speaking on condition of anonymity because McNamee's lawyers did not want to publicly discuss details. The syringes were used to inject Clemens with steroids and human growth hormone, the person said. A second person, also speaking on condition of anonymity, said the evidence was from 2000 and 2001.

"I think this is a significant point in the case. We believe that this is significant corroboration," said McNamee's lead lawyer, Earl Ward.

Lanny Breuer, one of Clemens' lawyers, called McNamee's allegations "desperate smears" and said the trainer "apparently has manufactured evidence."

"It is just not credible," Breuer said in a statement. "Who in their right mind does such a thing?"

Hmm... I'm guessing the "weekly NFL Films show" will move to the NFL Network.  There are two football shows I made sure to watch every week, the first being "NFL Matchup", the second was "Inside the NFL".
