Thirded, awesomeness confirmed.  It's not like the old days where I could play TFC or CS for hours and hours and hours, I'll just jump onto a server for a  few map rotations, get revenge on a nemesis or two and generally have some uncomplicated fun.  In fact, pretty much everything in the game can be labelled "uncomplicated", from weapons to controls to the nice small maps, and it's a better game for it.

I'm also looking forward to Portal more than I expected, but then I've always secretly liked jumping puzzles so super-extended jumping puzzles should be fun.  I also think Portal could, if not resuscitate, then at least nudge the mapping community into something resembling life - all you'll need for a level will be one idea and one room, so hopefully the bar will lowered enough for even mortals to put up with the dev tools.

And HL2.2... well it's HL, nuff said.

I think maybe the conclusion I came to in the link is the correct one, it's a game made more for the casual multiplayer gamer than not. I do still play it from time to time, but I hardly ever see anyone else on. Well, other than Bailey who I am currently stalking (he's often on so I just join his server from the uber cool Steam Community interface).

I can't wait for EP2 either. So looking forward to getting back into HL2 again.

I didn't play this weekend, but I'm usually on at night, like 11:00 - 12:00. That seems to be too late for east coasters, and too early for the west coasters.

<Hugin_len> Basically, cheesy doesn't have awful taste in music, he's simply very white.

I intend to play the 360 version a lot, but my home PC is a bit knackered. It can just about play TF2 but it looks a bit shit and the frame-rate ain't that decent. Besides which, Halo 3 just came out.

I'm pretty interested in HL2@360. Will they really have nailed the controls just right? I assume we'll get to try a demo at some point…

With a comment like that, you're just as bad as he is. Insulting the guy and then robbing him of the right to take umbrage by tacking on that phony emoticon at the end. If you're going to insult him, make it count! Otherwise just get on your knees and show him how you really feel.
