So what? We had a new debate about vegetarianism in which most people disagreed with him* and he decided to leave? I imagine that he took his virtual football home with him. Anyway, there's no conch; you don't need permission from the Speaker of the House before you start talking about something. If PlanetCrap is stagnant it's not because we debate the same shit over and over, it's because people keep leaving forever and the pool of pet topics is getting smaller and smaller. |

Oops: *I wouldn't mind but it wasn't a particularly fierce debate. If I recall, Px declared that vegetarianism is The One True Ethical and Moral Way, got all pissed off because people disagreed with him and left forever. |

Re: Px Maybe he did leave because the 'Crap was stale but I remember him coming relatively late to the game after people had already started complaining it was past its prime. I can't see him missing the days of thousands a posts a day or having your posts about Scott Miller responded to because I don't think he was here around those times. I could be wrong. Maybe that was the reason, though, or maybe he was really, really busy as some have said. The fact is that he got into this really weird argument about Veganism, got on a really high horse and then rode off saying 'never again' and as far as I'm concerned, that was the weakest Planetcrap exit ever. BTW, Frets on Fire is a fucking awesome game! I downloaded all the Guitar Hero 1 and 2 tracks for it and it just simply rocks my socks now. The only thing is my keyboard sucks (it's a PS/2 POS) and I looked around on hardware store websites for a USB replacement but haven't found anything really suitable layout-wise. Maybe a PS/2->USB converter would be the best idea as this keyboard has a fine grip, it's just that it's slow and you can't press too many keys at once. And there used to be a way to stick it to the Man. It was called rock 'n roll, but guess what, oh no, the Man ruined that, too, with a little thing called MTV!

I just got back from the Daft Punk concert in Amsterdam. Ho-ly fu-cking shit that was fucking genius. It was the exact same set from last year when they played at Coachella and in Belgium, which is too bad but was to be expected. They did have a 15-20 minute encore at the end with some stuff I'd never heard before. Really glad I went there and got to see them. And there used to be a way to stick it to the Man. The only change I care about is that he stopped posting. All the other stuff is immaterial. He's a lot younger than he comes across, so it's not all that surprising that he's changing when you consider his actual age. I know I changed a lot in my 20s. Horrible song of the nonce: Left Behind

Px is a busy guy, and he's gone through some big changes that have made him even busier. I'm pretty sure that's the reason he couldn't be bothered to re-hash debate #3303 regarding the merits of vegetarianism. - words and stuff -

I reallly like Px - I think it's a shame that he left 'forever' over a stupid debate that was second only to religion in terms of pointlessness and being unwinnable for either side of the debate. I suppose I was always convinced that if Px ever left for good it would be because the rest of the world was a desolate nuclear waste and he'd gotten bored waiting for a thread to be updated by someone else. |

This is pretty much how I feel about the whole thing. I liked Px a lot. Different circumstances growing up and I could have been pretty similar to him. I think it's crappy that he left on a such a sour note on such a silly debate. I realize it was important to him, but militant vegetarianism? What a way to go. My intelligence, then, is not absolute but is a function of the society I live in
