morn needs ur help kthx
April 9th 2007, 23:16 CEST by Morn

I've writting a new toy, and I need some testers before it fully launches. It's a lot like PlanetCrap, except instead of user-submitted topics you have user-submitted multiple-choice questions. Once you start marking your replies, the site will match you with other users, giving you a list of your best matches.

Behold ZOMGRLY!

There's still a lot of stuff that needs to be done, most significantly a messaging system, copywriting, and a big load of polish. If you encounter any major (or minor) problems, please let me know! (Oh, and please don't use IE6, the colors will be all wrong. Good thing it's just the colors. Mmm.)

Scratch the thing about that bug. That bug appears for every damn thing on main page when I change my vote; even when I change my vote in detailView of items that are on main page.

M0rn, will it pull in new questions when an answered question is hidden? I like the idea of it displaying whatever number of questions and as you answer them they dissapear and new unanswered ones fade in at the bottom. Keeping the answered questions hidden through reloads of the page.

I kinda figured that's what you're going for, and I like it. Maybe it's not though, just how I imagine it'll be funnest.

Request:
A blank vote when you don't like either alternative.

This could totally work alongside Planetcrap. Like tabs of the same website, you'd have VoteCentral and PlanetCrap views to toggle between.. mm..

PS: are you aware of the Wii's "Everybody Votes" channel?

So anyone playing the new Gears of War stuff that was released last night?  The title update included the new game type, "Annex".  It's basically like domination from the old UT games except, you know, bloodier.

I liked the respawning and I think it inherently enforces team play.  When 3 of their guys are standing in the circle, you aren't going to take them out by yourself.

But why would they reload when you hover your mouse over them? I can't reproduce that behavior here.

And yes, the RSS feed is wrong. Duh, I forgot to remove the audo-discovery tag when I copied the head from 25peeps.com. :-P

I like that site. The design sucks (font too big, design doesn't really seem consistent) but it works great. Won't the async storing of votes become problematic under a heavy load?

I haven't played it yet as I was busy last night, but I've been looking forward to it because the Domination gametype is one of my very favorites. I haven't played any Gears MP yet, I'm still going through the single player (and still really enjoying it), but I'd really like to get down with some MP with people soon.

I had to get a lawyer. Rushed to the hospital, the whole bit. The kid was illegaly driving a rental (meaning he was too young per the company's policy) so it's on the fence whether or not the kid's insurance or the rental car company's insurance is going to pay from what I understand.

Are you doing the physical therapy? I've seen too many people skip on needed physical therapy and have at the least a twinge and at the worst, a debilitating injury for the rest of their lives...

Geez, m0nty, you gotta sue the people that have the money. In this case the insurance companies and/or the rental car company.
