I can only think of Xbox 360 games at the moment, of which the best are Burnout Revenge, Dead Rising, and Saints Row. As masterful as Saints Row is, Dead Rising probably tops it. Dead Rising is a cinch for GOTY. Wii

I vote mgns for president. Actually I think those two are part of my lifetime awards Best Eeeevar games, nothing better pops to mind right now. 360-related there's only GoW for me. Yeah Dead Rising is also a nominee, but GoW and its coop+multiplayer tops it easily. Pro Laudo Verum.

Ok, my GOTY list: Action: Gears of War RPG: TES - Oblivion Expansion: Half-Life 2 Episode One Strategy: didn't play any strat games this year Sports: NBA 2K7 Puzzle/Board: Explorers Online at games.asobrain.com (it's Settlers of Catan with a different name) Overall: Oblivion just beats out Ep One due mainly to length factors. Game I'm most glad I stopped playing before meeting my girlfriend: World of Warcraft Worst camera use in an otherwise great game: Lego Star Wars II -chris |

Okami isn't due in Europe until next year. I've only heard good things about it, so I'll probably get that. If I do, it'll expand my PS2 library to an even four titles. Not bad, considering I don't even own the damn console. I don't go there to hurt you

Hmmm... Game of the year is such a tough call. Instead I'll my games of the year and go with that. Games of Year (in no particular order): Company of Heroes. Oblivion Gears of War Episode One Beyond that I played Madden 07 a lot, but I wouldn't put it up for game of the year. Too many things off and the menu system actively hates me. And the same with NWN2. I've played it a lot and I will play it more, but if it wasn't a D&D RPG, I would probably be kicking myself for buying it right now. |

No, I agree with G-Man.. it's VERY repetitive. It's a platform game wrapped up with coop and star wars. While that means it isn't all bad, it definitely isn't game of the year material. |

I'm going to ask for a 360 wireless headset, and a buddy has hinted a 360 webcam thing may be turning up. Since I have a bunch of games to swap, I'll probably pick up Rainbow Six and Viva Pinata this weekend, not that I'll have much time to play them between now and Christmas. I'd quite like a DS lite, but I think that's probably too expensive to ask for a single present. As for GOTY, it's got to be Gears of War for me, just because the multiplayer pushes it that much further ahead than the otherwise undoubtedly excellent Oblivion. I couldn't persist with Dead Rising because of the many features that conflicted with my play-style and time constraints. |

You can beat Lego Star Wars II by yourself in like six hours ... But it's certainly not GOTY. It's "video game to play with your girlfriend who doesn't play video games and has a hard time with the controls" of the year. Because it's simple, it's reasonably fun, and it can be played in small slices. -chris |

Well, it's not essential, certainly. But it's a pleasant luxury not to have a wire dangling off you, nor having to take the headset off when you put the controller down, etc. |

So I can go and get another beer from the fridge and pour it into a pint glass? Plenty of times I've been sitting in a lobby waiting and wanted to put down the controller to do something else. It's not like it's a hardship to take off the headset, but, nonetheless, a wire connecting you with something else is cumbersome, so why not get rid of it? |

Dead Rising can't be GOTY, with the stupid save system and the unreadable text. Although it's worked it's way out of my system shockingly quickly, I'm going to have to go with Gears of War. I've heard good things about Viva Pinata but haven't played it. Album of the year is Return to Cookie Mountain, by TV On The Radio. |
