A Sporting Conspiracy
September 26th 2006, 14:09 CEST by deadlock i don't really care, but the sports thread is in danger of falling off the frontpage (If this topic gets voted in, in fact). this topic can be the new one. just to doubly annoy certain people, it can also be the new thread in which jokes calls us fukkan morons. preferably without shitty links. poo. |

Dumdeedum: The disconnect can be entertaining though, there was an episode of NCIS a while back where they were calling each other wankers and viewed with British sensibilities it was excellently surreal. It's very much a British Isles word though, isn't it? |
British and commonwealth, a former team supervisor in 2wire is from Australia and uses it. the pronounciation of it, does vary quite a bit from the waaankaaaaa, to the wangkuh, to wankarr, truly a most expressive word. |
Sweet. I thought this might be a thread talking about sports, but it turns out to be the regular ol crap. The Japanese may make all the cars, the Chinese all the clothes and the French all the, um, Frenchmen. But damn if we don't lead the world in catchphrases.
Yeah, this place has totally gone downhill since, like, two weeks ago when I got here. I want to buy some cheeeeese!
#37 by Artur None, it's in the TV rips that float around the internets. Or just take a look at this. Of course, I can't prove to you that it came from the show that actually aired. Ok thanks to a jjz irc link I'll concede that it aired, however not that it aired in the US. This makes far more since, expecially considering the usual suspects aren't bitching up a storm about it. |
Shminks, I laughed. |
I watched the episode on my DVR last night. It was bleeped out. |
None: Indeed. |
Nutty lives! YHBT! Well, at least I'm not gaggle.
Px, I cried. Then I laughed a little. And then I went back to crying. Now I lie in a heap on the floor, completely empty of all emotion. Numb, you may say. I want to buy some cheeeeese!

So...the talk radio around here seems to be focusing on the whole T.O. thing. Discuss (it's the sports thread, I'll look away). Lady, people aren't chocolates. But you know what they are, mostly? Bastards. Bastard-coated bastards with bastard filling.

He's incredibly talented physically and a complete mess psychologically, I hope he gets the help he needs. |
Too bad he didn't succeed! Whoops, must be picking up a Philly sports radio station. |

So, Ninja Gaiden is hard....any version really. Anybody else think Okami's visuals are a bit too blurry? I got used to them after an hour or so but it was a bit jarring at first. One of the reports from Tokyo game show said the PS3 Ninja Gaiden is just the Xbox version looking nicer and being harder. Considering Ninja Gaiden was hard as hell, that sure doesn't interest me. Actually, the liberalism of the media - as a general thing - IS a major fallacy. What the media is, is a whore. -LP Johnsen Family

Considering Ninja Gaiden was hard as hell, that sure doesn't interest me. I tried to argue that point here at work and was called a pussy and not a "real gamer". Ahh well. Jesus Christ, that is unbelievably retarded! - lwf

Hope they're not decision makers. |

#64 by jjohnsen One of the reports from Tokyo game show said the PS3 Ninja Gaiden is just the Xbox version looking nicer and being harder. Considering Ninja Gaiden was hard as hell, that sure doesn't interest me. Nah, there's additional material, aside from the graphical improvements. New playable character, new bosses, new environements, additional features to old ones, dual sword fighting, etc. Here's the article: [url=http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/action/ninjagaidensigma/news.html?sid=6158534[/url] |

"More intense gameplay" = unforgivably difficult. No thanks. Lady, people aren't chocolates. But you know what they are, mostly? Bastards. Bastard-coated bastards with bastard filling.

It's interesting- I've seen two spins on it. One says he is allegric to the medicine, the other clearly states he tried to kill himself. I watched Aliens, and I didn't even get a lousy t-shirt.

Here's a link to a trailer. Keep in mind it's not direct feed so the color is a little washed out, but at least the camera is steady and people aren't walking in front of the screen. http://trailers.gametrailers.com/gt_vault/t_ninjagaiden_sigma_tgs06.mov |
Er, a Ninja Gaiden Sigma trailer. I never played the XBox version, not having an XBox, but maybe I'll give it a shot. I'm not a fan of hard either. We'll see. |
I've seen both that the pills made him sick, but that it was a suicide attempt. Maybe he didn't like the taste and decided to end it all. Regardless, if he comes back for the game vs. the Eagles on the 8th, it's going to be a very interesting time. |^^^^^^^^^^^^ |||__

Ah, so there is more new material. I had heard one new character and a couple of bosses. Still, too hard for me to enjoy, I think I replayed the first boss fight 6 times before figuring it out. I gave up on the game not long after that. Actually, the liberalism of the media - as a general thing - IS a major fallacy. What the media is, is a whore. -LP Johnsen Family

Man, he should under no circumstances play in Philly. I watched Aliens, and I didn't even get a lousy t-shirt.
What about that boxing debacle with Uwe Boll? |
Yawn. I watched Aliens, and I didn't even get a lousy t-shirt.
Yawn Wow... it's contagious even when written. I want to buy some cheeeeese!
SI is reporting it as a suicide attempt. I think he's a manic depressive. It's the only think that makes sense. Funk. I am sofa king. We todd ed.

Arizona has announced the name of their new stadium to be "University of Phoenix Stadium." WTF??? |
Your question is? I watched Aliens, and I didn't even get a lousy t-shirt.
Is it on the U of P campus? It takes a community to abandon a child.
No. U of P is a private school with satellite branches all over the state as well as online, not a state-funded public university. I take it Trunks doesn't get that. I watched Aliens, and I didn't even get a lousy t-shirt.
UoP is that trade/online school that has campuses all over the place. "I was working TWO dead-end jobs and still barely making ends meet, but now I'm an NFL QUARTERBACK! Thanks University of Phoenix!" |
So the University of Arizona's new stadium is going to be called University of Phoenix Stadium? That's...interesting. |
Interesting? That's awesome! It takes a community to abandon a child.
So the University of Arizona's new stadium is going to be called University of Phoenix Stadium? That's...interesting. ? #1. The Cardinals played up until this year at Arizona State University, not U of A. #2. They have a new building this year. U of P wants to buy the naming rights. #3. Yes, but MONSTER PARK was already taken as far as lame names go. I watched Aliens, and I didn't even get a lousy t-shirt.
Hope they're not decision makers. Thankfully artists and programmers only. Cliff still has a proper attitude about difficulty. Jesus Christ, that is unbelievably retarded! - lwf

yot: WHOOSH |
Ergo- You don't need to point out that it went over your head. We're cool with you anyway. I watched Aliens, and I didn't even get a lousy t-shirt.
WHOOOOOSH |
Anyway, that name's not guaranteed. It still has to go to a vote before the supervisors. Doesn't matter to me. I've never been a fan of corporate naming rights, so names don't faze me. I watched Aliens, and I didn't even get a lousy t-shirt.
I despise corporate naming of, well, anything. It reeks of crass commercialization and corporatism. But evidently you and I are in the minority. |
So is Leinart going to play or isn't he? Any estimate on which week Warner will get the hook, yot? |
I know. I dread the day that Major League Teams take on corporate names for the actual team. It's happened with smaller sports and leagues, but the day the San Francisco Rice-A-Ronis take on the New Jersey Summer's Breezes will be a sad one indeed. I watched Aliens, and I didn't even get a lousy t-shirt.
I would reckon most people would rather have creatively named stadiums as opposed to corporately named ones. Corporate "sponsorship" of sporting events is absurd. The "Chex Mix" great bowl of the game™ for example. I am glad I am not a broadcaster. 'Course, people can take those corporate names and change them into creative ones. Within 5 minutes of the new Eagles' stadium being named Lincoln Financial Field, people in the area were calling it the Linc. This pissed off Lincoln Financial people, who paid some ungodly sum for the name, and the president of the company even went around pleading for people to call it the full name. Everyone laughed at him and eventually he capitulated, because there was no way he would win. |^^^^^^^^^^^^ |||__

m0nty- Warner will play this week. If he keeps struggling, expect Leinart next week against KC or the week after Monday Night Football. I watched Aliens, and I didn't even get a lousy t-shirt.

We used to call General Motors place the garage, but we're not allowed to anymore on pain of death. Today Officer Coon, Officer Nigger-hater, and Officer Keep-darky-down were acquitted of all racist charges.
I'd be fine with corporations slapping their name on a stadium if they paid the full price to build it. However, when GM gets to slap its name on the Canucks' home rink for something like a million dollars a year when it cost a hundred million to build, that's just crass. It takes a community to abandon a child.
