Some random thoughts picked up from around teh intarweb:
- Bigger thirxty harddrive. Possibly 100gb?
- Will we see a price and release date for the PS3?
- WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
- Duke Nukem Forever will be playable (Hah!)

Predictions? Guesses? One fifth guessing?

Is there a site you can go to, to keep abreast of the situations as they develop? Hourly updates on news, whats hot and not, illicit camcorded freshly-ripped videos of behind-the-schenes footage?

I usually use gamespot and gamespy that way...

Probably your best bet on that will be G4's coverage, though it tends to be spotty. Also, I'm sure you can get your fix from Penny Arcade starting Wednesday. I'm sure someone will stream some stuff over from Qt3 as well. I wonder if we'll see any good video podcasts out of the show floor, since that seems to be all the rage these days.

If I'm one of the people that see the content, why do I care if other people don't?  There is only one raiding dungeon I haven't been to yet (AQ40) and I'll surely get there in a few months.

Just a few more months of running through the same dugeon, over and over and over and over again! Just so you can run through AQ40 over and over and over and over again. FUN.

You mean more 40 man raid dungeons that only 0.01% of all WoW players will ever see, and maybe half that will be able to beat?

You know Squeaky, if you actually stuck with a character long enough to get him to level 60 you might not feel the same way. It's true it's hard getting the people together or getting into a guild that does this stuff, but once you do get in it's fun and it becomes easier to move around. Also with the perpetual overall increase in gear more and more people are getting access to places like Molten Core. I know you've got some relatively high level warlock, stick with him, get him decked out in blues and then sign up at a guild's website that is still in MC, don't expect to jump to a BWL or AQ guild. Warlocks are almost always in demand and very few guilds have so many that they simply won't consider another. Also warlock gear drops all the god damn time in MC, guilds get tired of sharding it and will be happy to hand it over to a new guy, almost as much as they like getting a new druid in the guild.

Poop, no Fallout3 in from Bethesda and no mention of an GTA:Next. I don't see a single game on that list that I will end up buying.

Well, there's always the chance that there will be a few surprises. That list is likely not nearly comprehensive.

...after getting 100% in GTA:SA I may have burned myself out of games for a bit.

I thought that too, but Burnout: Revenge got me back into the swing of things. I'm also playing five minutes of MGS3 every so often so I can watch 20 minutes of FMV. Is it just me, or have game designers started to over-feature their way out of a good thing? Let me go through the game without healing myself or eating, for crying out loud.

If he doesn't like running through the dungeons over and over I can see why he's not level 60. MMOGs are entirely like that, even if sometimes the locations and the names of the monsters change.

I only run each dungeon once a week, rotating between MC, BWL, ZG, and AQ20, and then I also run the non-raid dungeons doing quests I've never finished.  There are like 7 dungeons I play regularly.  The only one I have completely finished is MC.  There are still bosses in the other three I haven't defeated.

No. I have no desire to run the same dungeon over and over again. I've also completely abandoned my warlock. I also cannot dedicate (lets say) 3 to 4 hours of playing a game at a time (or however long it takes to run through a dungeon). Also, with my schedule the way it is, the only times I ever get to play the game is between 1am and 2 pm, there isn't much activity going on during those times. I also have no desire to join a guild at all.

I haven't seen enough of Gears of War to make any judgements on it, though. It looks sort of like an extra-bumpy version of G.R.A.W. from what I've seen. Only with black people and aliens instead of Mexicans and cornfed white boys in desert camo.

UT2k7, though....really, what's the point?

Pac-Man is just eating dots, engery dots and ghosts, over and over and over and over again. It's the gameplay that's fun and keeps them coming back. More power to them I say if they can enjoy it. Shit, I palyed TFC almost daily for a year before I got bored so I can understand it.

Oooh, thanks for the list.  That Wii Super Monkeybone sounds great.  And the more I hear about Wii games, the more I think it will be the perfect console for non-gamers.  Kids, my wife, parents.  Anyone that looks at a controller with a huh? will probablly have better luck with the Wii controller once they start playing *

*If everything that's been said is close to true.

On the PC I'm interested in Bioshock, CGM had a preview that went into the story a little, and it remnded me of Fallout under water.  I'm a sucker for post-apocolyptal.  The screenshots for the next UT look cool, lots of urban type stuff, so I'd like to hear more about that.

Is there a site you can go to, to keep abreast of the situations as they develop? Hourly updates on news, whats hot and not, illicit camcorded freshly-ripped videos of behind-the-schenes footage?

Gamespot is pretty good about this.  Last year they updated every 5 minutes with news, screenshots and videos.  I downloaded about 2 gig of press conferences and videos from them last year.

Upcoming games I can't wait for? NWN2. Obsidan and I are in love, I hope.

In other words, unless you're planning on out-Battlefield 2ing Battlefield 2, I'm genuinely not interested.

Yeah, I mean, most games can be devolved into repitious behavior.  Madden is just endless passing and running.  You play on identical green football fields every time.  Max Payne is run into a room, kill everyone inside, over and over.  Oblivion is kill everyone in a cave, kill everyone in the next cave.  Counterstrike is the same running and shooting over and over.

Huh, guess you're not the hardcore raider you made yourself out to be. You haven't downed all the bosses in ZG or AQ20 yet? Hell seems like I've passed you then, as I have downed every boss in MC, ZG, AQ20, all but Nef in BWL (attempts tonight) and even downed Skeram in AQ40.

I don't remember calling myself a hardcore raider... I've jokingly called myself a catasser...  There are a couple of reasons I'm not as far as I could be.  The first is that I bought a second copy of the game and started over about 10 months ago because I wanted to play with Jen.  The other is that my original raiding guild was a bunch of fuck heads and the guild disintegrated about 6 months ago just as we were starting BWL.  I found another guild with people I liked much better that was just beginning MC so I kind of "started over" a bit.  The only boss we haven't killed in ZG is Jin'do... and in AQ20 we just haven't done the final boss for one reason or another.  We're mainly focusing on BWL still.

I find I don't like the UT gameplay compared to other FPS games...it's too much of the twitch and react gameplay. More like playing Quake on speed and less like playing Action Quake on ever iteration. That being said, I'll be buying the next version just to see if the engine is half as cool as it looks AND I did spend probably 30 - 50 hours with the last overall. That's money well spent in my opinion, even if it's not my favorite ever.

Funny you should mention that, this sort of thing happened recently to my old guild. I got out literally just days before shit hit the fan. It also happened to another guild that I know people in aswell. Seems like Vael is the guild killer. I guess as long as your guild is successful people are willing to put up with a whole lot of shit, but once the guild hits a wall (Vael definitely seems to be that wall) all those problems and annoyances really start to show themselves.
