Tidings of Joy!
December 15th 2005, 21:06 CET by Chunkstyle

What are you asking for this year?  What are you buying others?  Why do English people eat puddings?  Why do people buy that album of dogs barking Jingle Bells?  What's your favorite Christmas memory?  Do you believe in Santa Claus, or are you a joyless Scrooge?

Today's P-A is kind of funny.

With your plan they'd be all like "everyone with weasels in their pants thinks they're great dancers but they're not, they've just got weasels in their pants."

The first 30 seconds of the Xpolding Plastix cut is great.  But then it goes on and does the same thing another 30 seconds.  Then it mixes things up a bit, but still feels a little "same-y".  it's a shame, I like the energy of the cut, I just wish they'd been more agressive about varying that underlying piano line (or whatever it is).

Yeah, I agree the clip is a bit repetitive. The album has other songs that hang together better as an entire song, but I like the energy. It's awesome for driving fast, which is where I do most of my music listening.

Well, that was interesting.  I was just trying to activate a new installation of Photoshop CS2 (this one for the Mac) and the activation kept bombing out.  I called the phone activation and it failed as well, so I transferred to a living person and she tried and still it failed.  The serial number was coming up as revoked due to having been used before.  Since I just took it out of the shrink wrap this afternoon, that seemed unlikely.  The lady I was speaking to suggested I have my secretary speak with the people she ordered it from, since they might have sold me a returned copy or something.  I was beginning to grow angry about that possibility (but not at the Adobe employee - she was amazingly friendly, which I'm not used to on tech support type calls) when I recalled that I had installed the trial version previously.

So anyway, I'm thinking that maybe it didn't remove the trial's serial number or something, so I grab my jewel case and look at the numbers to see if they match, which they do.  Well, all except for two, which I dyslexia-reversed when I was entering it.  Apparently, my typo was still a valid serial number.  I would have thought they'd be less similar number strings than that, but it was probably a fluke.  The lady and I just laughed about it, then I uninstalled and reinstalled with the correct serial number and all was right with the world.

I know that was a boring story.  I apologize.

Although, based on that, I have some more stuff I wouldn't recommend for you. I don't know if you've read these or not, but I thoroughly unenjoyed them and wouldn't want you to read them:

Sleeper (it's only 4 trades long, best... errr.... worst comic I've read)
Top Ten
Walking Dead
Conan (The new Busiek/Nord stories. Really cool stuff, gorgeous art)

Jeet- Walking Dead, Y-The last man, Ultimates and Fables.  Only one is a superhero comic, so they may not be what you want right now.

I have The Ultimates (and 2) on order for Christmas presents.  I had to leave some comics unpurchased for the delight of gift receiving.

On another note, I got a couple of early Christmas presents today: Indigo Prophecy and Steamboy (DVD).  I've only played about 30 minutes of IP, but so far it's brilliant.  As for Steamboy, I've just been watching it for about 15 minutes now, and I'm in awe of how it looks.  Wonderous and amazing.
