My no vote seemed to have pushed this through. Haha, sorry. Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection,
The lovers, the dreamers, and me. |

I might buy a PS3 if it's expensive enough, just so I can smell the l33t from it. Nihil nequit.
You'd buy it to control the underwater nukes. |
Isn't the PS3 slated for Europe in 2010? |
No, that's DNF. The need to be observed and understood was once satisfied by god. We can now implement the same functionality with data-mining algorithms.
Anyway, this morning I overheard a conversation on a packed bus on my way to work. Two girls were talking about some guy and certain strange things he did. Girl 1: "I dunno, he's just... weird. Well, I don't mean weird, just..." Girl 2: "...different." Girl 1: "Yeah, different." Political Correctness! Coming to casual conversations near you! The need to be observed and understood was once satisfied by god. We can now implement the same functionality with data-mining algorithms.
Speaking of conversations, the captain of that football team of disadvantaged blokes I help run went to court recently on a drink driving charge, and he co-coperated fully with police on one proviso: that the first thing he said to the officer when they pulled him over on the fateful night in question not be put on court record, or even read out in court. That utterance was: "Hello Drinkstable, I haven't had a cunt all day." |
I'll buy the one that's hideously expensive and silver, as long as it's slower and has fewer features. Oh, who am I kidding. I don't play games. (Photoshop) I used to be 'with it', but then they changed what 'it' was. Now, what I'm with isn't 'it', and what's 'it' seems weird and scary to me.
I want a revolution, even if it was just to please the little fanboy in me. |
today i saw an ad on the side of a bus that had pictures of flowers. the only english in the ad was a url; www.newanus.co.kr. hi. i like you. do you like me?
So when you threaten someone that you'll rip them a new one, you refer them to this place? |
Maybe I'll just buy a Phantom instead. I'm sure there are others like me who believe that thing is actually real and not an investor money scam. Nihil nequit.
I'm sure there are. But it wouldn't surprise me if they were all of Flemish origin like yourself. The need to be observed and understood was once satisfied by god. We can now implement the same functionality with data-mining algorithms.

I'm only interested in the Revolution, and pretty much just so I can play Zelda games. I'm such a fanboi. I have a hard time accepting that anyone could achieve this miraculously high level of stupidity. - Caryn
And don't forget mario128 (or whatever it's going to be called in it's final iteration). |
I'm interested in which ever has GTA:Next. I'm thinking of getting an X-Box to play Forza. I need a good racer. |
Now with Gang Rape Action!!! "Testiculos habet et bene pendentes" — "He has testicles, and they dangle nicely."
I have no particular objection to X360, except no game that has been announced for it interests me at all. I'll most likely get a PS3 I'll most likely not get a Revolution. Unless they spring something unexpected. |
Microsoft may have shot themselves in the foot with the hard drive decision on the 360. Sony will win if they keep the price reasonable. Game Developers: Don't forget the zombie monkeys.
The availability of the complete back catalogue of nintendo (and possibly sega, capcom, konami etc) for the revolution is enough for me to be convinced. |
Meh. I'll probably buy all three, but will do so at least a year after their initial release. Just like I did with most of the last set of consoles. |
I dunno about that. ps3 still seems like more smoke and mirrors at this point. And I really don't know how much the harddrive matters to less hardcore gamers. "Testiculos habet et bene pendentes" — "He has testicles, and they dangle nicely."

I don't want to see either the 360 or the PS3 because I don't think they bring with them anything positive for the industry. If anything, I see TEH DOOM AND GLOOM on the horizon with many developers going under or being bought up and absorbed/dismantled. Also, since the only way we seem to get really good games right now is to sort of carpet bomb the market with tons of shit, hoping something sticks while the ratio of good to bad games is staggeringly in favor of the bad. So, in order to get a really good game we must also endure twenty bad games....when it's no longer economically feasible to make twenty something games in a realistic timetable, then we'll maybe get seven to ten games. The ratio of good to suck will stay constant, I'm sure, but we'll have fewer and fewer games to choose from. Long live the PC! (And maybe Nintendo, but I don't know what the hell they're even up to.) Accipere quam facere praestat injuriam...
I'm getting an X360, just because it's first out. The only must-buy for me so far is PGR3 (liked the first, skipped the second) but I'm interested in several others. I'll also absolutely be buying a Revolution, because, hey, it's Nintendo. And of course, once next-gen GTA comes out I'll probably have to buy a PS3 as well. Assuming they don't price themselves out of the game. PC gaming is dead, but you can still sodomize the corpse.
I am going to come in late this generation. Not buying any of the next gen systems until I can find at least 5-10 games that I really want to have before I buy any of them. Although I'll admit I am awfully tempted to run out and preorder a X360 just to say I have one. Funk. I lie awake

One good thing nintendo is supposedly doing is taking over some strategies it used for the DS, namely funding (and publishing) some smaller projects that will bring original (and exclusive) games onto their platform. |
Sony keeps yelling about how expensive the PS3 is going to be and blah blah games will cost this and that. Forget it. I'm not paying more than $50 for a video game ever. Good luck with that. My aging process has brought with it an infinite patience for games. I find that I enjoy games more when I buy them from the bargain bin a year after they come out. The only thing I'll pay full price for anymore is something that's niche and will likely be hard to find later on. |
One good thing nintendo is supposedly doing is taking over some strategies it used for the DS, namely funding (and publishing) some smaller projects that will bring original (and exclusive) games onto their platform. Depending on what the controller is, there's a very good chance of the Revolution being the platform of choice for indie developers that want to make a new genre for themselves. |
Is Nintendo going with a more traditional architecture, or are they too going to the asymetrical whatzawhozit that the 360 and PS3 are using which keeps getting Gabe Newell's stretch pants in a twist? I would hope they're going more traditional and would exploit that fact to get a lot more games out a lot faster than the other consoles, which might bring Nintendo back into the game in a big way. Even so, the Revolution isn't coming into my home until it has a really for real Mario game for me to play. If they don't launch with Mario128, then I'll have lost all faith in them. Accipere quam facere praestat injuriam...

Rumors currently speak of two CPU's, but not multicore (if I understand how CPU's work correctly). |
you do not understand! haha, just kidding. hi. i like you. do you like me?
If they don't launch with Mario128, then I'll have lost all faith in them. Whatever. You'll lap it up like the Mario fanboy you are and you'll LIKE IT. |
I will be buying a 360 at some point, but it won't be first day. None of the games are worth the purchase, at this point. Revolution, on the other hand, I'll be all over that like white on rice as soon as it's released. PS3 will depend on it's price and exclusives. "Of course, libertarians are a special breed because they can't explain their beliefs to anyone, even each other, without sounding like batshit crazy lunatics." - Shadarr

I plan on getting a 360 around holiday 2007 when it hits $150 and there are a crapload of games. Actually, the liberalism of the media - as a general thing - IS a major fallacy. What the media is, is a whore. -LP

You know, it's funny. Aside from Rez being hard to find, right now is the perfect time to buy any one of the three consoles. All the really good games are now $20 or less, and the consoles can be had for dirt cheap compared to what they originally went for. You may be on to something with this whole "wait two years" thing. |
I've been heavily debating with myself about purchasing a current Xbox right now. There are plenty good games for it, and I could get most from the platinum sellers list for $20. Any that is not, I could buy off ebay. And since backwards compatibility isn't guaranteed on the 360, it's not like I'm wasting money. Funk. I lie awake

I'll end up buying all three at some point because I'm a sucker. Kid: Because you went to the bathroom on mommy's dishes?
Willie: What the fuck? No! |
I have still managed to not buy a Gamecube. I think I can hold out. Game Developers: Don't forget the zombie monkeys.
Funk - I bought an xbox about a month ago. It's a very worthwhile purchase because there's a humungous back-catalogue of games going cheap. Also, although I'm sure I'd be happy to play the next gen titles, there's nothing about them that seems to titillate me more than current gen titles. They look prettier, and some of them are probably really cool, but I'm still more eager to play Burnout 3: Revenge than anything I've seen so far. There doesn't seem to be an intrinsic gaming betterness to the next gen, is what I'm trying to say. |
Just picked up Fable by Lionhead Studios/Microsoft Games for the XBOX. Good stuff. Has echoes of Black & White written all over it. It's almost designed like, 'What if we focused on at least one of the little villagers from Black & White." bd They say a midget standin' on the giant's shoulder can see much further than the giant...

Is it wrong of me to be looking forward to the Morrowind sequel? (right now, the main selling point to me for 360) こんにちは
Though I guess I could give *more* money to SE and buy the slightly upgraded FFXI (slightly better visuals). If it's like the PS2 version I can play on the same account. こんにちは
Oh, and on another positive note: super monkey ball is coming to the DS. Hurray! |
I have still managed to not buy a Gamecube. You should. There is no excuse for not having played Animal Crossing. Without me, Internet would never have had sex with the DS. -m0nty

Or Kirby Air Ride. PC gaming is dead, but you can still sodomize the corpse.

Well, at least we know it's really Bob. |
