Nice UAC. Although I'm tiring of the all-beige backgrounds. After watching Hero, I'm starting to think the single-colour shit that is the current fad in movie post-production is way beyond played out. Yeah, everything's red. Whoa, now it's blue. Durr bluh, now it's green. Hurble burble, yellow. WTF, is this Twister The Movie? Perhaps you could have UACs where each panel's background is layered with an iPod colour. Yeah, that would be novel for about a fortnight. |

Regarding HL2: If you buy it early from a store now, you won't be able to play it whatsoever. They changed their stance, and no one will be able to active their copy (if they bought it retail or on Steam) until 2:00 AM, November 16 CST. (My time, at least.) I think it's dumb to punish innocent retail users, but whatever. |

I'm UncleJeet on Steam....I doubt there are any more of me out in the world. At least, I hope not....for the world's sake. Yeah, I only found one of you, just Prostyle, ergo and wzrd had a bunch of entries. If you buy it early from a store now, you won't be able to play it whatsoever. I knew they were lying when they said they'd release it as soon as someone broke the street date. Too many problems with the publisher. Bummer for the stores that do break the release date, they'll have customers returning the box saying it doesn't work. Actually, the liberalism of the media - as a general thing - IS a major fallacy. I actually took some time on last night's strip. It was the maiden voyage of a new brand of drawing pens. I waffled between the old and the new throughout and I think it shows a little. Still, I'm happy with the progress. Thanks to UAC, I'm busier than a ten-peckered dog in a fire-hydrant factory!

Wow, somebody broke the Half-Life 2 street date! Now you can unlock and play it on Steam! You have earned one Punch To The Balls(TM) if I ever meet you. re: Halo 2 It's Halo. Slightly disappointing in the "I always look for some improvement in a sequel" department, but overall, it's more Halo, so it's not bad by any means. But man, they didn't even fix framerate issues. Kinda sad. Also, they took out the Jumpy config, so now people who use Southpaw can't jump and run at the same time! Good job! Do-Re-Mi-Fa-SO-LONG-FUCKER!

Picked up the game this morning. Got to play it for about an hour before I had to go to school. Great opening, very cool. Duel wielding is fun. Just dropped into Africa, but I haven't had a chance to play it yet. However, it appears to be very very large. My roomate should be home by the time I actually get home so I imagine we'll be hitting it up co-op from the beginning for the rest of the day. Caveats: The cutscenes are directed and handled very well and the voice work is great. However, in comparison to many new PC games the textures can tend to look like ass, and I'm even playing in 480p. Other than that, fun fun fun. Comment Signature

deadlock, a good portion of the board seems to be excited about it. The trailer is equal parts shots from the first trilogy and rapid-fire snippets from Ep. III. So far it hasn't wowed me, but I'm not sure it can. They are obviously going for more story, which is nice. But like Post said, the game doesn't look all that great. Kind of sad, because I've seen plenty of games that looked visually better. Same old performance issues as the first too. Played on a lan a bit this morning. On a map that was in Halo 1. Who knows. It doesn't feel like a real sequel, I'll say that much. Feels more like an expansion. Do-Re-Mi-Fa-SO-LONG-FUCKER!

Halo 2 is fun. Doesn't quite live up to the hype, but nothing hyped this much does. Also... while it certainly looks nice, it doesn't look nearly as good as some of the E3 movies and screenshots of the past made it seem like it would. This is likely due to a combination of some not-completely-honest screenshot taking and also the removal of features (particularly in the realm of lighting and shadows) that I assume were removed because they couldn't keep them with a good steady framerate.
