At least you're playing, I chose the wrong shipping method from Amazon and my copy just shipped today, by the US Postal Service.  I expect to be playing by next Monday.

Quick Steam question.  I'm adding PC people to the list, and a few of the names give me about 20 choices.  How do I pick the right person for Prostyle, Ergo and Wizard?  Also, gaggle doesn't even show up as an option.

Sorry, couldn't remember which thread we were discussing this in already.

All in all, it took me about 10 hours to complete on Normal.  That's just a guesstimate, maybe 12.  I got it last Thursday, had to give it back Friday and got it back today.  The game is very good, and the ending doesn't ruin the experience, but it just reeks of cutting to meet the deadline.  The worst part is, there won't be a Halo 3 on this xbox and I doubt it'll be a launch title for the next xbox, or even a first generation title.  So a long wait....

It wouldn't be so bad if you had some warning that the ending was so abrupt and unexpected.  I really thought there would be one, maybe two more levels.  Ah well, I can't complain about the game itself - if you liked Halo, there's lots more to love with Halo 2.  Just brace yourself for the ending.

no, No, NO!

Halo felt like they had to rush to finish it too. Hence the copy/paste levels.

I see the bars in the candy aisle all the time...they cost a bit more, though.  Also, I see the squares being sold individually at a lot of places.  The caramel ones are good enough that I could easily split my stomach if given the proper amount of them.

I've never even heard of the company until today...

BE WARNED!  Halo 2 has the WORST ENDING EVER.  It just ends, in almost mid-mission.  I understand leaving things open for a sequel, but it's as if they left out the entire climax and resolution of the entire game.  I was watching this cinematic, and then grabbed my controller ready to play the end level(s) when it was over, only to be greeted with the credits.  BAH!

Didn't I make a post about the PA guys saying the same damn thing earlier? Oh wait, here it is:

It wouldn't be so bad if I hadn't just spent a couple months enraptured by the bees, a feat of electronic storytelling which invested the Halo universe with such life and vigor that thoughts of playing Halo 2 were practically overpowering. I never know when I'm being reasonable, when the way I feel about something is actually appropriate to tell another person, so you'll have to forgive me for being disappointed that Halo 2 does not even attempt to resolve the epic conflicts it creates. It's like when you got the really big chocolate bunny at Easter, and all during dinner you imagined what sort of filling might be in there. It would never occur to you that there was nothing inside it, nothing but nothing, air from the tip of the ear down but there's not a Goddamn thing in there short of your fond fucking wishes.

huh.

Nice UAC. Although I'm tiring of the all-beige backgrounds. After watching Hero, I'm starting to think the single-colour shit that is the current fad in movie post-production is way beyond played out. Yeah, everything's red. Whoa, now it's blue. Durr bluh, now it's green. Hurble burble, yellow. WTF, is this Twister The Movie?

Perhaps you could have UACs where each panel's background is layered with an iPod colour. Yeah, that would be novel for about a fortnight.

Regarding HL2:

If you buy it early from a store now, you won't be able to play it whatsoever. They changed their stance, and no one will be able to active their copy (if they bought it retail or on Steam) until 2:00 AM, November 16 CST. (My time, at least.)

I think it's dumb to punish innocent retail users, but whatever.

Yeah, I only found one of you, just Prostyle, ergo and wzrd had a bunch of entries.

I knew they were lying when they said they'd release it as soon as someone broke the street date.  Too many problems with the publisher.  Bummer for the stores that do break the release date, they'll have customers returning the box saying it doesn't work.

I actually took some time on last night's strip. It was the maiden voyage of a new brand of drawing pens. I waffled between the old and the new throughout and I think it shows a little. Still, I'm happy with the progress.

re: Halo 2

It's Halo.  Slightly disappointing in the "I always look for some improvement in a sequel" department, but overall, it's more Halo, so it's not bad by any means.  But man, they didn't even fix framerate issues.  Kinda sad.  Also, they took out the Jumpy config, so now people who use Southpaw can't jump and run at the same time!  Good job!

As long as Stan does not sing show tunes, there should be no confusion.

The media doesn't educate, it sensationalizes. That's why there's no learning curve, just repeated bouts of gross stupidity. Bailey
